That dress!

This is in response to the question I left on my last blog, Finding "that" dress.

The dress that I wore is...

                                                       THIS!

I chose this because Ian said it look good on me, and I believed him (they say that when it comes to looking your best, your boyfriend knows best). Haha. I must admit that I was on a tight budget also that time so I let his preference prevail since it favors my wallet.;p

I wrapped the scarf around my shouders/neck to cover my broad shoulders. Pardon my unruly hair, due to time constraint, I wasn't able to fix it 'properly'. I just blow-dried it. Haha.

I bought this to go with my dress because I can't find the right heels to match.White, (like the color black) fits with any color and cute crystal beads adorns the pair so I decided to match it with my dress.

                                                   White and gold accessories.

With my cousin who said that I can only wear the dress when I don't have any choice anymore. Haha. I didn't put any make-up on that day. I just used some non-comedogenic foundation and lip gloss. My skin is unreasonably sensitive and I often (if not always) get pimples whenever I put any on my face.

It was nevertheless a lovely wedding!<3

finding "that" dress.

Weddings are always wonderful: those nice gowns, colorful flowers and happy people.

I used to spend hours watching wedding coverages at Youtube, particularly those of Jason Magbanua's http://jasonmagbanua.com/. (Though there's one particular video he made that I don't like, the pre-nup of Maggie Wilson, it is horrible.:< )

My oldest close cousin just got married last September 19, 2011. As expected, it was a lovely wedding. It was held at the wedding capital of Batangas- Caleruega (I'm going to post some pictures of the event at my next entry). The main motif was mint green, but guests can wear any of the pastel colors as long as it's formal looking.

I particularly like yellow, it is my favorite color. I only had one week to find the dress that I'll be wearing, (on my exam week!) So one half day weekday, I just went to the nearest mall in my uniform to find the perfect fit, in yellow.

SM DasmariƱas doesn't have a lot of chic boutiques unlike Mall of Asia, or Robinson's Ermita, at least. I only saw three stores with descent dresses on it, including the Department Store.

These are the dresses that I tried on in Lhasa boutique:

Dress No. 1
Php 2, 000+

 Dress No. 2  Php 1,000+

 Dress No. 3
  Php 1,000+

I love the details of this dress.

All of the above dresses' back
look like this.

 Dress No. 4  Php 350
(on sale, originally 700? I forgot.)

I love the cut of this one.

The yellow dresses were great. I considered them all, especially the last one, because it's cheap! Haha. I was on the verge of buying it but then for some reasons, I hesitated. So I went looking for more when weekend came. Guess where.

 Dress No. 5   Php 400
                                          (originally 800)

Yes this is not yellow, but it is pastel. And I liked its soft hue.
What I didn't like with this dress is its bottom part.
There's a see-through fabric that reminded me of  a  kulambo/ mosquito net.

Dress No. 6   Php 400
 (originally 800)
Ian chose this one. He insisted on fitting it though it's too dark for pastel. I texted the groom's sister which is my cousin also if I can break the color code. She said I can, ONLY if I have no choice.

What dress suit me best? Why?
and
What dress you think I chose?
I'm going to post that dress on my next post.

quick update: i missed blogging.;p

Yes.  I've been busy for the past few weeks. There has been a roller coaster series of events that took place, and it's not over yet. Let me share what happened on those days that I went missing here at Blogspot (no one might be interested to know but I'll still blog it.) Haha.;p

As always, I was seated on the choir loft with my choir mates.

The Kutless concert was a huge success. The band, as expected was amaaazing. The whole COP auditorium was filled on the Saturday night concert, and a lot of people were able to know and accept Jesus in their lives. A lot of people were saved.:)

I was so delighted that Ian's friends came to see the concert with us. We've been praying for them.

God was so good, he touched their hearts and two of them accepted Him and went to the Altar call for the acceptance prayer as it is said in   Romans 10:9.  (Take note, accepted Christ, not converted to a religion. Christianity was never a religion. It's about accepting him, having faith in Him and living according to His will.)

People heeding the altar call.                                             Mama and Ian with his friends and cousin.

Next, I've been so occupied making a scrapbook.

My older brother, Alvin Marion migrated to San Diego California with his family last September 30, 2011. Since he already had all the things he needed and refused to have anything heavy, (so that they will not have problems with the baggage weight) I decided to make him a scrapbook filled with pictures and dedications instead.

Having lunch at the bus while going to Tagaytay.
Together with Ian, I went to houses of our relatives (as far as Tagaytay) to solicit messages from them for my kuya. We don't know how long he'll be separated from us (he'll be applying for a green card) so I got a little sentimental while doing the thing. Hehe. I juggled on doing the creative work on the twenty pages back-to-back of the scrapbook while doing my school works. I even slept on it. ;p

Thank God and I finished it for four days (I just worked on it two hours a day, plus two days where  our immediate relatives wrote their messages to him.)

A sample page of what I did. This is my page.
Every page corresponds to different relatives with their pictures with my brother and their messages for him.
And the day came. I handed the heavily love-laden piece of craftsmanship to my brother and bid our farewells. My father is an Airport Police so we didn't had any problems on acquiring several passes. My heart was heavy but NO, I didn't cry. Unlike in my brother's farewell lunch (where we really shed tears) I was surprised that none of us that time did, just my grandmother. Maybe because we know that they are going  for a good reason and we believe that their lives will be better there. Internet is so handy so we will not have any problems with communication...as if they are just here in the country too. Yes, maybe that's the reason why.

Dan, our youngest refused to go. He said he was tired from his P.E. class but I believe he's just not that strong  to see his brother go. It's a shame he didn't, but we understand. I want to believe kuya Alvin did too. Dan wrote all the things he wanted to say on the scrapbook anyway.

My brother with his biological family who loves him so much
(minus Dan, our bunso plus lola.)

After that, I attended a good friend's house party and also had exams and some quizzes. These definitely ate my time.

And oh, I even stupidly injured myself from our gate.
I was already late for my morning class so I hurriedly closed the gate of our house not knowing that my palm is caught on its closing edges and was squeezed between it! It surely hurt.

Clumsy me!;p Hope it will not leave a mark.:(

"Hell week" / week full of hardcore exams are just around the corner so my next post may be two weeks from now. I know I'll be missing a lot but I'll just make up for it by reading a lot of blog posts from you on sembreak (which starts on Oct. 20).

Happy blogging!<3
