herbalists.

L-R: Pahidaphil Oil Extract (Analgesic & Anti-pruritic
liniment), Sampaluka Salumansi (Extra strength
cough syrup) and Alizubo (cough syrup)

For our Pharma lab activity, we made our own herbal medicine preparations, and we packed them for commercial use. These were some
of those medicines, unpacked.
Cool, eh?;p

Akapulkati and St. Vincent Plum ointments

eczema, scabies and itch.

stress stealer.

Went yesterday with Cynthia at SM DasmariƱas to print some of the Pathology slides to wallet size ('cos its way too cheaper to have it printed there than at home) so I can study for the Patho practicals more conveniently. I was so stressed thinking that that day is just the start of our "hell week". We have three consecutive weeks of evaluations and practicals ahead of us, and I was so overwhelmed, I felt weak and nonchalant.

While we wait for the pictures to be printed out, we went to National Bookstore to buy Cynthia her clipboard. We were happy to see that they were on sale and so we immediately went to the book section. Eager to find something that will rouse my interest, I jumbled on the pile of sale books like I was looking for a dress to wear for a Saturday getaway in my cabinet. I found several but those weren't interesting enough to convince me to buy them...until Cynthia handed me this book. And my heart leaped for joy.

The moment that I laid my hands on this, I know I would buy it...
even though it's the 7th, or the last book of the sequel.

I admired the story of Narnia since I first heard of it and I instantly became an official fan after I watched its first movie. It's a good Bible allegory, with Christ being represented by the mighty, loving Aslan. I've been planning to collect the books but I became too busy to remember. Good thing Cynthia handed me this, and I was reminded.

A great find.
Unlike the average Narnia book, it's a full-color, collector's edition...
and it's on sale...half the price! How 'bout that?;p

I found other Narnia books there---Books 1, 2, 3 and 5 but they weren't colored like this one, so I didn't buy them. Cynthia laughed at me for buying Book 7 first but its okay. I am determined to complete the Chronicles of Narnia in any way, anyway. I will collect the books in their colored version...or even in collector's edition, if I will be blessed enough. I believe that the books would be a superb read, worthy as a bedtime story to my future children for a year or so. =)

boo.

urgh.
This is one of those worst experiences ever.
I feel so DOWN.

We just took our pharma quiz minutes ago and now i feel like a total idiot,
DUMB-O. LOSER.
I still can't believe it.
I had a MENTAL BLOCK! on a 15-item identification quiz!!
I only answered about 5 items..yes, FIVE..
..and worst, I'm not even sure if those are all correct.
waaahhhh.
But I did study those topics!!
In fact, I don't usually review for quizzes but I did for this one.
I DID.
How come I didn't recall the answers to those questions?
I MEMORIZED those terms.

Why did my mind went blank when the paper was placed in front of me?
I thought hard but I can't recall anything..ANYTHING!
I WANT to blame myself.
All those hours of reviewing were wasted..
..and that is so STUPID of me.

But, I believe, it's NOT all me.
That proctor (who is also one of the Pharma lecturers) kept on walking in front of me and at my right side while I was answering..and it really bothered me.
He kept walking ALL THE TIME.
He did it the whole 10 minutes and I got distracted.
I wasn't able to FOCUS.

NO.
I'm not covering up for my fault, that really happened.={
And I CAN'T get over it.
NO.
I'm not listening to Dr. ---- ---- now, as she is discussing a new topic.
I have no intentions of doing so.
I'm too irritated to absorb what she's saying.

I am so UPSET.
I'm so disappointed to the point that I'm doing this childish thing now though I know that I AM the one that will suffer.
I'm currently missing the important part of the lecture.
But I don't CARE.
I'll just study her lecture at home.
The only thing I know now is that I DON'T want to listen.
My type A alter ego is taking over now.

PHARMA SUCKS.
But I SUCK MORE.

a dog's jealousy.

We had a short topic for our Surgery class today and we've been dismissed an hour earlier than usual. Happy that I can rest a little bit earlier, I went straight home.

As I opened the gate to our house, my baby, Pretty rushed out the open door to welcome me with waggling tails and playful jumps as she has been accustomed to do whenever I arrive. She never fails to make me smile even though I'm tired and this makes her extra special to me.

I immediately cuddled her and smothered her with kisses though she hasn't taken a bath for almost four days now. Our house helper had to go to the province for an emergency and due to this, aside from our school works; we became busy with the chores. Thus, our pets' bath schedule has been badly compromised.

Out of compulsion and love for her, I decided to give Pretty a bath. My lola and younger brother disagreed 'cos it's already 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Knowing they have a good point (for a good dog bath should be given during mornings so the dog won't catch a cold), I still insisted. And I did.

Trying my best to dry her.
(My younger brother, Dan took this picture as he was in the room when I came in).
After the messy bath session, lola told me to immediately dry her up..else, she will really catch a cold. And so I went to our room to dry her for it is warmer there. Bruce, our older pet, followed us and kept on distracting me while I'm drying Pretty.

Bruce, obviously jealous stayed at my side while I'm doing the towel work.

I was supposed to give Bruce a bath also but then, I don't want to disobey lola for the second time and so I decided to postpone his bath to another day. Unfortunately, he didn't like the idea..and before I knew it, he already had his 'revenge'. He took the nearby bathroom tissue and masticated it to pieces.

Bruce, releasing his disappointment on the poor tissue roll.

I can't blame him though. Bruce was right, I should have treated them equal. Oh well...bad dog, bad master....bad me. Sorry Brucie.
