i was the one who proposed the bet 'cos i thought i could beat him since i had chicken craving the night before that..well, i thought lang pala. haha. i do eat a LOT and most people don't know that..maybe i ate too much at lunch that day, eh?

results:
pril- 3 1/2 chicken thighs w/ soup
ian- 5 chicken thighs w/ gambas and veggie lumpia

i'm such a loser. haha. love you dear..next time i'll beat you.^.^

almost trypanophobic.

Had my second dose of DPT and MMR vaccines. It's been a day since I got them but still, my left arm (where the DPT vaccine has been injected) aches whenever I move it, similar to what happened when I had my first dose a month ago. It really hurts, especially on the first 10 minutes after it was injected..it's a knife-like pain and the muscle fiber/s where the needle's contents were released exhibited a pulsating feeling.

It's just too bad that needle-pricking seems to be part of our semestral routine from now on. Since we are now starting to have patients for our ward work, we are exposed to whatever diseases who knows there might be and thus, it's mandatory for us to have our immunity to the common diseases with greater encounter possibilities.
Taken when I was in first year med. My group mates forced me to volunteer
as the subject for our Physio Lab Experiment Prothrombin Time.
My blood.

As a child, I don't like medical needles.

My first encounter with a medical needle (as far as I can remember) was at a bakuna center/clinic. Me and my siblings were brought there by our parents who tricked us by saying that we'll go to a mall. It's a clever idea, for no child will be eager to come and get punctured..er, vaccinated. We were far more than disappointed when we learned what will really befall on us that day and at the very sight of syringe, we ran. We all ran...the four of us. We all ran away until we cannot run any longer. I didn't know where my sister and brothers hid at that time (and I still don't know up to this minute) but for me, it was a brief escape from peril. The 'torturers' dressed in white found me in the public comfort room..and with the waiting injection and upset parents, the rest of the story has been deleted in my memory via selective amnesia. Haha.

Today, I can tolerate medical needles, but I still don't like it.

If I do have a choice, I wouldn't let myself be pricked again..but then again, I don't.

*Trypanophobia-'needle phobia'
*DPT- combination vaccine against three infectious diseases in humans: Diphtheria, Pertussis (whooping cough) and Tetanus
*MMR- immunization shot against measles, mumps and rubella (also called German measles)

a real tearjerker.

the Hachiko movie, that is.

One afternoon when I just went home from school, my younger brother, Dan, with full extrinsic sincerity told me to watch the movie "Hachiko" in an almost forceful way. Right at that moment, I got curious with the film for never (for as long as I can remember) did my brother ever urged me to watch a certain movie. With this, though not much interested, I agreed to do so.

And so after resting a bit I watched the film...and it's beyond words. It really defines LOVE and LOYALTY. Goosebumps were uncontrollable at some scenes and the times that I cried was infinite (well, almost). I even had to explain myself  to my grandmother ('cos she was so alarmed when she saw that my eyes were tearful and red) why I was in anguish. She was in disbelief when I told her that it's due to a movie. wah.

This part, cry me a river.

Anyone who hasn't seen the movie yet MUST see it at the soonest possible time. I don't recommend it to those who are emotionally unstable though (those who have depression, are anxious, or even people who have a weak heart and the like). It may affect in some way, I'm sorry. But if you can then there's no excuse: this movie is that special. It's a true story, by the way.

My Brief Summary:

The movie teaches about true devotion and absolute loyalty. Hachi remained steadfast and dedicated to the point that he kept on pursuing his master for 10 years after his master’s death. The movie relays the message that visibility is not important nor needed for one to be faithful. What is important is one’s desire to remain loyal to the one he loves.
Other values of the movie include love of your own pet and care for the lost. Hachi was just found by his master in a train station, lost and has no place to go. The dog was adopted out of pity and care. Though not truly his own, the professor, who adopted Hachi, treated Hachi as his own, took good care of him and thus, the bond between them that even death cannot separate them.

To arouse interest:

In April 1934, a bronze statue in his likeness was erected at Shibuya Station,
and Hachikō himself (right) was present at its unveiling.

invincible compulsion to serious blogging.

I'm currently a second year medical student, one of the several reasons why
I was hesitant in engaging into this..I have little time to lose.

It was last year when online blogging caught my interest but despite of the 'light bulb-flashing- above-my-head' phenomenon, I instantly killed the idea of having my own blog site. Aside from being a student crammer, I'm a person of procrastination, a sleepy head with no special linguistic skills. Hence, though creativity and spirit might be there, I doubt that my fragile sense of initiative and competence (writing-wise) will ever suffice.

Since I have a multiply account, I blogged there instead. Just a couple of times..and I thought I'd be contented.

Still, the irresistible minute came. I was viewing a friend's site and it hit me..again (after a dozen times I guess). Naiinggit?? Maybe, haha..but I'm really a person with the curiosity of a 7 year old child and like a toddler, I always want to indulge on trying new things. I tried to ignore like before, but this time, I was convinced that this undying getting-into-blogging interest is just one of those compulsions that I have to give in to, ('cos even I succeed in forgetting it this time, the idea will not stop there) and it will just keep on bugging me.

And so, I finally gave into it.

Somehow, I had my mind settled in the topic and made this--my first own blog site! I thought that if I can spare time for Facebook then maybe I can update this site every now and then. Out of tabula rasa I made this, my first blog entry outside multiply. I just hope that I can justify this act.
